Pretty in Pink

Hi and Good Morning :)

Our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs this week is 'Tickled Pink', and it was lovely to play with some light floral colours and shapes, especially in January! lol.  The lucky winner will receive a $20 voucher to spend online in the Cheery Lynn Store, so a fab prize too!

I used a 6 x 6 blank card base and layered First Edition papers onto 300gsm ice white pearl card.  This cardstock was also used for the doily, border and corner die cuts,  and it gives a brilliant clean cut, even on the most intricate dies.  The 2 corner dies are from the  Lace Corner Deco I  set, and the beautiful border at the bottom is the Border Carnivale Die trimmed with some spotty pink ribbon and a bow.

I then matted an adorable Mo Manning image onto the gorgeous Sunflower Doily die.  This is a fabulous size, as it fills a 6 x 6 card pefectly, but still gives you lots of room to add other embellishments.   The large flowers use both sizes of the Judy's bloom dies held together with pearl brads.  The smaller flowers are Darling Daisies, and the leaves are a mix of Pine Branches and Olive Branches

All dies used on this card are:

I hope you find time to enter this week, we love seeing your Cheery Lynn Creations! :)  Dont forget there is always fresh daily inspiration from the rest of the talented DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog

Sweet Stampin - Ribbons

Good Morning :)  I hope everyone has some fabby plans for the weekend.  We will be staying warm and cosy today, as about another 4 inches of the white stuff fell again last night!

My card today is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin, where this week our theme is 'Ribbons'.  Our monthly sponsor is The Ribbon Girl,  and our weekly sponsor is Crafty Ribbons - aaaah, I geddit! lol :D

Now I think I mentioned in my previous post I have been having a crisis of confidence with my colouring, so this week I fought off a few demons, and tried not to get so wound up or precious about it.    I coloured this gorgeous LOTV image in with PM's and matted onto white American Crafts and DCWV cardstock.  The papers were a smashing christmas present from my blogging buddy Paula, so I have no idea what they are and the rose and seam binding are WOC.  The sentiment is LOTV and the tag die, heart die and filligree frame hooked around my image are Cheery Lynn.  The border punch is MS and the heart brads are from very old stash.

I have finally completed my DI refill collection, so intend to have a bash painting with those.  If anyone has any tips or suggestions on flesh colours, hair colours etc I would really appreciate it, as I am starting from scratch.  I have the DI pens, and didnt really get on with those, so I am hoping I fare a little better with the inks (fingers crossed!).

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Lili's Little Fairies - Anything Goes
I ♥ Promarkers - Anything Goes
Passion For Promarkers - Fave colour combo - my mum used to call this 'blood and bandages'.... but I LOVE to see red, white and green! :)
My Mums Craft Shop - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Use a bow

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and have a smashing weekend!

Christmas at Sweet Stampin - Cold & Frosty

Brrrr!.. Its still blimmin freezing here, and still too much of the white stuff knocking about too!

Anyway, it proved to be very inspirational and fitting weather to make a card for our monthly challenge over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin.  We are sponsored by the excellent My Mums Craft Shop, so a brilliant prize on offer this month too!

I stitched Memory Box christmas papers onto white bazzill card and coloured in a gorgeous Sylvia Zet (Wee Stamps) image with promarkers.  I LOVED colouring this in.  I have struggled a bit lately with my colouring mojo, as I tend to leave it to the end, and then feel under pressure to get it done before the daylight fades so I can photograph it - tut! :)  Talk about giving yourself unnecessary pressure - lol :D

The dies are a mix of Cheery Lynn, Memory Box, and spellbinders and the border punch is MS.

I hope you find time to join us this month, its good to make an early start on those xmas cards, and I think thats why I also enjoyed making this card too.

Now I thought I would share a couple of pictures of the Cheery Lynn Booth at the CHA show.

This picture is courtesy of Nigel and Rosemary Merry (Crab Apple Crafts) - who gladly obliged me (or humoured me) with hunting down the booth and uploading some pictures! lol  :)

I also nabbed a few photographs from the Cheery Lynn Facebook page   I was well chuffed to see so many of my cards on display and I thought the whole booth looked so bright and colourful.  There are some stunning designs from all of the DT, I think I would have stayed hours just looking at them all.

Anyway, thanks so much for visiting my blog today, stay warm and safe, and have a smashing day,

Sweethearts - Cheery Lynn Designs

Hi and Good Morning :)

My card today is for our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs where this week the theme is 'Sweethearts'.  Valentines day is just around the corner, but hearts also make a lovely addition to any card for someone special.   The winner will receive a fabulous $20 voucher to spend online in the  Cheery Lynn Store.

I used a 6 x 6 inch blank card base and stitched MME papers onto pink Bazzill card.  I layered the beautiful  Lady Kate Edger border and the waste from the Celtic Heart Border onto the horizontal paper panel, and then added the Large Heart to Heart Doily Die.  This die is really versatile, with lots of layering components, and so I used the inner heart shape to mat my image too.  I then cut the smallest die from the Two of Hearts, and also the Celtic Heart Die in white for some contrast.  The tiny flowers are made from the BAF embellishment sets and I added some pearls from stash.

All dies uses on this card are:

I hope you find time to join us this week,  and you still have plenty of time to enter.  Dont forget there is always fresh inspiration from the rest of the talented DT over on our Cheery Lynn Inspirations Blog.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and I will be back again tomorrow with another card to share.

Marvelous Magnolia - New Beginnings

Morning :)

Hope the weather isnt too bad where you are today - its still very cold here, but yesterday I was out with the dogs and the most beautiful snowflakes were falling :)

My card today is for our new challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia, where this weeks theme is 'New Beginnings'.  We are sponsored this week by The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop, so a really fabby prize too.

I used the gorgeous Tilda With Wand for my card, and raided my scrap box for paper, and card scraps.  I used a mixture of Doo Hickey, Cheery Lynn and spellbinders dies, and coloured my image with PM's.  The brads, pearls, flowers and twine are from stash.

I am still struggling along with my internet - QSat have a progressive throttling system throughout the month, so unfortunately things just seem to get slower and slower :(  Its pants tbh, but I keep plodding on :)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and I will be trying to catch up later (if I can get pictures to load!) lol :)

Cheery Lynn - Snowflakes

Hi and Good Morning - BRRRR!!!! Its Freezing here!

Our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs this week is Snowflakes, and they are a gorgeous addition to winter greetings cards, giving the effect of lace and flowers all in one go!  Cheery Lynn make some of the most delicate and intricate snowflake dies, so you cant fail to make a stunning card with them.  The lucky winner will receive a $20 voucher to spend online at the Cheery Lynn Store too, so well worth playing along.

My card uses a 6 x 6 scalloped blank card base, and I layered white bazzill card with icy blue paper.  I matted my image with scalloped and classic circle stackers, and centred it onto the gorgeous Italian Flourish Doily die.  This is one of the most delicate doilies, and looks like a beautiful snowflake in itself.  The pretty border is the stunning Lady  Kate Edger (from the awesome New Releases), and I cut both sides of a strip of card to make this a double border.

I mixed and matched snowflakes in different sizes, but I also added the Italian Flourish Tiny Doily to the back of the sentiment and also the large snowflake.

All dies used on this card are:

M4 - SM Silver Stackers (sentiment circle)

I hope you find time to join in the challenge this week, and I look forward to seeing some gorgeous, icy creations.  Dont forget there is also daily inspiration over on our Cheery Lynn Inspiration blog too, where you can see more of the wonderful new release dies being used.

Thanks so much for visiting today and have a smashing week,

New Beginnings - Joanna Sheen

Hi and Good Morning :)

Back again today with my card for our new challenge over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog, where this time our theme is 'New Beginnings'.  As always the lucky winner will win a £15 voucher to spend online at the Joanna Sheen website, so well worth joining in :)

I used a gorgeous decoupage sheet from the Little Suzy's Zoo set, and these are so cute!  I dug out some of my old skool 8 x 5 inch landscape cards and just layered some K&Co paper onto soft blue bazzil cardstock.  I used Cheery Lynn & spellbinder dies, MS patp, white ribbon, fibre and charm from stash.  This card felt quite effortless and quick to make, as the decoupage fills the space beautifully.

I hope you find time to check out all the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the DT and also play along if you can.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and I will be catching up later,

Cheery Lynn Dies - New Releases!

2nd Post of the Day

Oooh, I'm so excited and extremely proud! :)  Not only do I have lots of my cards on display representing Cheery Lynn at the CHA show, but today sees the launch of the NEW  RELEASE DIES, and I have to say they are AMAZING! :)

This has to be the biggest and most stunning new release yet, with gorgeous doilies, flowers, 3d pockets/pouches/gift bags, words, cutie fringes and borders and my absolute favourite - MINI TAGS! :)  I actually had an input in some of the mini-tag designs, and requested small tag dies that you can stamp your sentiments on and layer them up in contrasting backing card.  They are ACE!

My top card uses the beautiful new doily - Chasing Rainbows, some super-cute Tiny Things with Wings (featuring bumbly-bees, ladybugs, dragonflies, and birds), Leaf Edger Border and the really gorgeous Daisy Strip, where you can cut multiple layers of daisies in different sizes all in one go!

My second card again uses the Chasing Rainbows Doily die, Cutie Fringe border (rolled into the tiny aster type flowers), Lady Kate Edger border, leaves, new words and some fab Mini Tags - even the holes line up when you layer them! :)  There are also some mini doilies this time too, which are so cute!

If you want to see more of the gorgeous new dies, then please hop over to the Cheery Lynn Inspiration blog and see what the rest of the talented DT have come up with.

All dies used on the above projects are:

Sweet Stampin - Gingham

1st Post of the Day

Hi and Good Morning & Happy Weekend! :) Yay!

My first card today (for yes, there will be more........) is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin, where this week our theme is 'Gingham'.    We are sponsored by the fabulous Stamp and Create, and also our brilliant monthly sponsor The Ribbon Girl.

Now I dont use a lot of gingham, (I prefer stripes and spots) but it does give a really fresh and yet cosy feel to this card.  I used one of my favourite Penny Black images, K&Co paper, ribbon, pearls and wooden charms from stash.  I cant tell you what the bumble-bees and tag dies are, as I am sworn to secrecy until my next post! LOL :)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, and I will be back later with some brilliant new release Cheery Lynn dies!

Cheery Lynn Designs - Winter Whites

Hi and Good Morning :)  I  hope everyone is having a great week so far.

Our new challenge this week over at Cheery Lynn Designs is 'Winter Whites', and so this is a lovely excuse to brighten up a dark January with a sparkling fresh card.   The winner as always will win a fabulous $20 voucher to spend online at the Cheery Lynn Store.

I started off with a 6 x 6 blank card base and used American Crafts textured cardstock for all the matting, layers and die cuts.

I cut the elegant French Lattice Frame for the background as it added depth and always looks really stylish.  The borders are the beautiful Anastasia lace border, and to hide the join to the frame I cut a delicate strip from the Expandable Tiny Borders die plate.  This is a really useful multiple border die.

I coloured a cute Sylvia Zet digi image and layered onto circle stackers and the gorgeous Pinwheel Doily die.  The snowflowers are a mix of different snowflakes layered up and secured together with pearl brads.

All dies used on this card are:

I cant wait to see what everyone comes up with this week, and you still have plenty of time to enter our challenge.  Dont forget there is always fresh and inspirational ideas to be found on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog too.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and I will be back later in the week to showcase some of the AMAZING new release Cheery Lynn Dies - they are utterly brilliant! :)

Friends - Cheery Lynn Designs

Blog Candy still open here until 6th January 2013

Hi and Good Morning and Happy New Year! :)

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and New Year holiday and got lots of great stash from Santa!  I got a much needed sewing machine and I love it, its going to save me oodles of time I reckon!  Hubby thinks it will be used for stitching up ripped trousers, and making my own curtains, but I definately have no plans for any of that! - LOL :D

Anyway, its great to be back blogging after a wee break, and its also nice to be able to share someting light, fresh and not at all christmassy!

My card today is for our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs where this weeks theme is 'Friends/Friendship'. As always the lucky winner will win a $20 voucher to spend online at the Cheery Lynn Store, so I hope you find time to join in.

I used a super-cute Tilda, coloured with PM's and layered MME papers and salmon pink bazzil cardstock.  This cardstock was used for all the matting and die cutting, and it cuts beautifully!

I centred my image onto scalloped and circle stackers and then onto the gorgeous Italian Flourish Doily die.   I added some Lace Corners, Butterflies and one of the cute squiggly borders from the  expandables set.  The sentiment was cut out and matted onto coved rectangle stackers - these are brill! - the smallest ones look just like tickets and with 6 sizes in each set they go big enough for most sentiment stamps too.

All dies used on this card are:

You still have lots of time to enter this challenge and the winner will be announced next Monday.  Dont forget there is always fresh and inspirational projects uploaded daily by the rest of our talented DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog too.
